Transfer Removal/Installation

TRANSFER REMOVAL/INSTALLATION





1. Disconnect the negative battery cable.
2. Remove the battery and battery tray.
3. Remove the wheels, tires and splash shields.
4. Remove the under cover.
5. Remove the steering gear and linkage, and pipe assembly installation bolts from the front crossmember, then suspend the steering gear and linkage with a cable.
Pipe assembly tightening torque 7.8 - 10.8 Nm (79.6 - 110.0 kgf-cm, 69.1 - 95.5 inch lbs.)
6. Drain the transfer oil into a suitable container.
7. Remove the front pipe.
8. Disconnect the propeller shaft from the transfer side.
9. Remove the transfer oil cooler with the hose still connected.
10. Remove in the order indicated in the table.
11. Install in the reverse order of removal.
12. Add the specified amount of specified transaxle oil and transfer oil.
13. Warm up the engine and transaxle, inspect for oil leakage, and inspect the transfer operation.

Transfer Bracket Installation Note





1. Hand-tighten the bolt A and B.
2. Tighten the bolts in order of C, A, B, D.
Tightening torque 42 - 62 Nm (4.3 - 6.3 kgf-m, 31.0 - 45.7 ft. lbs.)

No.1 Engine Mount Installation Note





1. Align the hole of the No.1 engine mount rubber with the bolt hole of transaxle.
2. Hand-tighten the bolt A, B, and C.
3. Tighten the bolts in order of A, B, C.
Tightening torque 93.1 - 116.6 Nm (9.5 - 11.8 kgf.m, 68.7 - 85.9 ft. lbs.)
