Variable Valve Timing Actuator Inspection

VARIABLE VALVE TIMING ACTUATOR INSPECTION
1. Rotate the variable valve timing actuator by hand and verify that the groove of the rotor and notch of the Cover on the variable valve timing actuator are aligned and fitted.

Caution
- If the groove and notch are not aligned, rotate the rotor toward the valve timing retard position until a locking sound is heard and verify that they are set in place.

- If the rotor and cover are not secured even though their notch and groove are aligned, replace the variable valve timing actuator.

Caution
- Due to the precision interior construction of the variable valve timing actuator, it cannot be disassembled.
