Oscilloscope Patterns and Waveforms

Inspection Using An Oscilloscope (Reference)

Generator output voltage signal




- PCM terminals: 1AB(+)-Body ground(-)
- Oscilloscope setting: 2 V/DIV (Y), 2 minutes/DIV (X), DC range
- Vehicle condition: Idle after warm up (no load, P/S off, A/C off)

Generator field coil control signal




- PCM terminals: 1AD(+)-Body ground(-)
- Oscilloscope setting: 0.5 V/DIV (Y), 1 minute/DIV (X), DC range
- Vehicle condition: Idle after warm up (no load, P/S off, A/C off)

Fuel injector check signal




- PCM terminals: 2B(+)-Body ground(-)
- Oscilloscope settings: 2 V/DIV (Y), 10 minutes/DIV (X), DC range
- Vehicle condition: Idle after warm up (no load, P/S off, A/C off)

CKP sensor signal




- PCM terminals: 2C(+)-Body ground(-)
- Oscilloscope setting: 2 V/DIV (Y), 5 minutes/DIV (X), DC range
- Vehicle condition:Idle after warm up (no load, P/S off, A/C off)


CMP sensor signal




- PCM terminals: 2E(+)-Body ground(-)
- Oscilloscope setting: 2 V/DIV (Y), 50 minutes/DIV (X), DC range
- Vehicle condition: Idle after warm up (no load, P/S off, A/C off)

Fuel injection control




- PCM terminals
- Fuel Injection No.1: 3B(+)-Body ground(-)
- Fuel Injection No.2: 3E(+)-Body ground(-)
- Fuel Injection No.3: 3H(+)-Body ground(-)
- Fuel Injection No.4: 3K(+)-Body ground(-)

- Oscilloscope setting: 2 V/DIV (Y), 20 minutes/DIV (X), DC range
- Vehicle condition: Idle after warm up (no load, P/S off, A/C off)

IGT control signals




- PCM terminals
- IGT1(No.1): 3W(+)-Body ground(-)
- IGT2(No.2): 3X(+)-Body ground(-)
- IGT3(No.3): 3Z(+)-Body ground(-)
- IGT4(No.4): 3AA(+)-Body ground(-)
- Oscilloscope settings: 2 V/DIV (Y), 20 minutes/DIV (X), DC range

OCV control signal




- PCM terminals: 4S(+)-Body ground(-)
- Oscilloscope setting: 2.5 V/DIV (Y), 1 minute/DIV (X), DC range
- Vehicle condition: Idle after warm up (no load, P/S off, A/C off)

Purge control signal




- PCM terminals: 4T(+)-Body ground(-)
- Oscilloscope setting: 2 V/DIV (Y), 10 minutes/DIV (X), DC range
- Vehicle condition: Idle after warm up (no load, P/S off, A/C off)

HO2S (front) heater control signal




- PCM terminals: 4AD(+)-Body ground(-)
- Oscilloscope setting: 2.5 V/DIV (Y), 20 minutes/DIV (X), DC range
- Vehicle condition: Idle after engine start (no load, P/S off, A/C off)
